Your shipment will arrive frozen and packed with dry ice within 2 days of your ship date. We use top of the line, custom made, IPC Greenliners to insulate our boxes and assure that your beef arrives safely and ready to transfer to your home freezer.
Our Recommendations:
- Purchase at least 9lbs of beef to help keep everything frozen during transit. This is not a requirement but highly recommended.
- Don't let your delivered package sit out upon delivery, get everything moved to the freezer as soon as possible.
- Some of the edges on the beef may soften, this is OKAY! Your beef is still safe to move to the freezer. As long as your order is still very cold, you're still in the food safe zone.
- Upon shipping you will receive a UPS tracking number to follow your beef's journey from the ranch to your door.
One of the most amazing things about being a small pastured meat company is the ability to have total involvement in every level of production... from pasture to table. My dad always says, “We will serve no beef before its time” and at Wild Earth we take that to heart. Each animal is born unique in size, shape demeanor, and foraging preferences. They will finish out to their genetic capability in their own time, in their own way, on lovingly managed pastures. For us, there is no specific weight or size that we look for, just conformation and ample fat deposits on either side of the tail. These deposits signal that they have developed intramuscular fat, or marbling, that makes for the ultimate cooking and eating experience.
Now, fortunately for us we have a tight genetic program for our herd that couples with good pasture management so that most of our beef cattle finish within 100 pounds of each and from 26-32 months of ages other depending on the season and their “frame size” or bone structure. This makes it easier to hit the weights for each cut stated on our website.
At Wild Earth we want to honor each and every unique animal nose to tail AND have a consistent product you can depend on time and time again.
Let’s make Wild Earth a family tradition.
